Amman- November 22, 2011-Jordan Investment Board (JIB) has completed its participation in the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) which was held from 14th- 20th November, 2011 at El Hassan Science City.
The event was organized by Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship in the kingdom as there are more than 1.5 million young Jordanians aged 15-24 who seek entrepreneurial knowledge and direction.
On the second day of the event, JIB held a session titled “Is Your Idea Worth it?” in which JIB’s Director of Research and Studies Department Mr. Ahmad El Zubi demonstrated how entrepreneurs should prepare a prefeasibility study (PFS) before starting with the actual development and implementation of their project. Afterwards, participants were split into groups and given a challenge to complete a PFS.
After given some ample time to complete the PFS, the finalized results were assessed by JIB’s committee, steered by Mr. El Zubi, which awarded the winning group with a completed and integrated prefeasibility study which is usually sold at a rate of JOD5,000. The winning group who were able to complete the challenge included Mr. Laith Al-Adham, Ms. Shatha Hamdan, and Mr. Ahmad Al-Bakri
On the closing ceremony of GEW, JIB was recognized amongst one of the three best activities that took place during the week. Chief Executive Officer of IrisGuard Mr. Imad Malhas in addition to the CEO of El Hassan Science City Mr. Omar Hamarneh, CEO, presented Mr. El Zubi with a trophy as appreciation to JIB’s endeavors in organizing the session and engaging the participants.
It is worth mentioning that Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) has been hosting organizations in over 100 countries, along with hundreds of partners. GEW have held thousands of events which have inspired millions of people to embrace innovation, imagination, creativity – and entrepreneurship.
