Oxford Business Group and Jordan Investment Board team up for new economic report

Forthcoming business guide set to map out country’s foreign investment trends

Jordan, 28 February 2010: Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy firm, is building on its successful operations in the Middle East by renewing its partnership with the Jordan Investment Board (JIB).

As OBG’s primary partner, JIB will team up with OBG’s experienced editorial and research team to provide key business intelligence on the country’s economic development and investment opportunities for the Group’s forthcoming publication, The Report: Jordan 2010.

JIB is a government organisation which is tasked with attracting foreign direct investment to Jordan. The Board works with the private sector to promote Jordan’s business environment, while also facilitating registration and licensing procedures for projects.

OBG’s Country Director in Jordan, Diana Reinhart, said she was confident that JIB would make an invaluable contribution to the new report, given its in-depth knowledge of Jordan’s economic landscape.

“Jordan has had to wrestle with the challenges of the global downturn, but showed considerable resilience in weathering the financial storm,” she said. “JIB has played a key role in helping to boost economic activity during difficult times by continuing to attract foreign direct investment to the country.  I am confident that the Board’s expertise and detailed knowledge of the country’s business operations will also make an invaluable contribution to The Report: Jordan 2010.”

Issa Gamoh, Acting CEO at JIB, said that the Board welcomed the opportunity to continue collaborating with OBG by providing data which would help to ensure that Jordan’s investment opportunities were once again relayed to the international business community.

“One of JIB’s key tasks is to ensure that investors are made aware of the attractions that Jordan offers, such as political stability and security, a friendly business environment and diverse funding opportunities,” he said. “I am confident that by teaming up with OBG, which is recognised as the premier intelligence provider on emerging markets around the world, business leaders will be offered an unrivalled report documenting the exciting opportunities available in Jordan.”

The Report: Jordan 2010 will serve to reinforce OBG’s place as the world market leader in providing accurate, insightful economic information on developing and emerging economies across the continents. The highly-anticipated report will be a vital guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, political landscape, banking and other sectoral developments. The Report: Jordan 2010 will be available in print form or online.
